The landscape behind is Whitehall in London, with Downing
St. and the Admiralty building among others, and the M.O.D. behind us,
so to speak...
It's really just a composition using the Professionals' 'Doyle', again
from the endpapers of their 'Annual' (because it's a good size), and another
of my photos from the Bogside, this time from behind the Army lines, one
soldier is trying to stamp out the flames of a petrol-bomb.
An odd thing about this picture, (like a couple of others), is that, a
few years after making it, I saw on TV a very similar (but perhaps more
shocking, being 'reality'), scene- in that case the aftermath of the mortar-bomb
attac on Downing St., the shot was of the van used burning on this or
the next street corner, and with a bobby framed in the foreground.
