This is one of two much larger pictures, about 20" x
16", based on photos that I found discarded in a London street market.
They were of shockingly horrible 1970's shopping centres, with quite ugly
sculptures (apologies to the authors if they read this, I presume it paid
the bills).
Another part of the 'charm' was that "Bolton" and "Dartford" were in the
bottom corners in badly-applied Letraset.
In this I got to use several elements I'd been hoarding; the large image
of "Doyle" of 'The Professionals', peeled from the endpapers of an 'annual';
a 3D lenticular postcard of the Apparition at Lourdes (I used the children);
and another 3D picture of Pat Jennings, a very marvellous Goalkeeper,
one of the few famous people from Newry, and something of a local Saint,
which provided the justification, if you can call it that. The photo was
canvas-mounted on stretchers, and so I was able to give Pat a halo of
flashing lightbulbs which show through from the back.
The general schema is of course the heavily armed 'tough guys' investigating
a paranormal / spiritual apparition, and ready to 'sort them out'...
