Natives In A Mystic State

In the foreground is a photo of my parents, in a place called the 'Fairy Glen' in Rostrevor at the foot of the Mournes, a beautiful place for walks.

In the midground is a photo I tore from a book on native English culture, which I remember as the 'Overton Mummers' in village called 'Freefolk' in Hampshire in 1923.

I was sort of using it to suggest that the British state cared about as much (i.e. not a fig) for the real culture of its own natives as that of any others.

As well of course I found the image slightly intoxicating, and of course was vaguely aware of the close relation to Irish Mummers and other native, pagan practices.

In this mysterious utopia we have an idyllic Palace of Westminster (belly of the beast) set in front of Mt.Shasta, California, I believe a sacred mountain...
