Seán Hillen, Visual Artist

Born in 1961 in Newry, Co. Down. Lives and works in Dublin.
Hillen studied at Belfast College of Art, the London College of Printing and at the Slade School. First came to note for his photomontage works from the 'troubles', then for a series of collages called 'Irelantis'.
A sometime inventor (prizewinner in a major UK Design Council competition), Hillen has also executed stage design, props and special effects; and recent commissions include a video for Super Furry Animals and advertising images for the Bank of Ireland. He is currently completing a major sculpture for Citibank in Dublin.


Ruán Magan, Documentary Maker

Born in Dublin in 1968, Ruán Magan worked for 6 years in the production of feature films and television commercials from 1990. Since 1996 he has been directing, filming and producing documentaries, mainly in the Irish language for TG4, exploring the cultures of the world. To date he has been responsible for 40 documentaries filmed in India, South America, Australia, Canada, North and Central America, Africa, the Middle East and China. His company, WONDERLAND, has sold 2 recent series to international television distributor, Beyond International, who are currently selling these originally Irish language films world wide.


Gabriel Rosenstock, Poet

Gabriel Rosenstock is a poet and translator. He works as an Assistant Editor with the Irish-language publishing house, An Gúm. He is a member of Aosdána, the Irish Academy of Arts and Letters. A former Chairman of Poetry Ireland/ Éigse Éireann, he is an Honorary Life Member of the Irish Translators' and Interpreters' Association, member British Haiku Society, Haiku Society of America, World Haiku Association and World Haiku Club. He will launch his tenth volume of poetry, Eachtraí Krishnamurphy (Coiscéim) at this year's Cúirt Festival in Galway. Also forthcoming is a travelogue, Ólann mo Mhiúil as an nGainséis (My Mule Drinks from the Ganges). Among his titles available from Amazon are the erotic haiku Cold Moon and the volume of poems Portrait of the Artist as an Abominable Snowman from Domhan Books, New York and Beginner's Irish and A Treasury of Irish Love from Hippocrene Books, New York.

 

Peter Maybury, Typographer

Peter Maybury runs a graphic design studio specialising in culturally related projects. He also produces limited edition books, graphic and photographic works, and has released music as 'soft sleeper'.
